Belt and bracesEVEN if you can't earn a fortune on Wall Street, you can still look the part.

Ede & Ravenscroft's new Boardroom Collection pays homage to the sharp tailoring showcased in the new Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps film, and sported by the wheelers and dealers in New York's financial district. Get Gordon Gekko's style with a crisp white collar and cuff shirt worn with braces, and a double-breasted waistcoat under a single-breasted suit. Dressing the part is half the battle these days. And lunch is still for wimps.

Talk it over

IT DOESN'T make cheery reading, but men are three times more likely to take their own lives than women. In an effort to reduce the more than 4,000 male suicides that take place every year, the Samaritans has launched a hard-hitting campaign. Called Men On The Ropes, it encourages blokes to talk about their problems, and it is supported by Welsh International rugby union referee, Nigel Owens. "Men from my town would just get on with things, you weren't even aware men had problems," he says. "Looking back, there were people I could have and should have turned to. I think that if I had been able to talk to someone that day, I might not have attempted suicide. That's why this campaign is so important; it has the power to make men aware help is available and that they should use it."

MOST people wouldn't associate Do It Yourself home improvement with haute home design. Thanks to this year's trend for customisation though, personalised furnishings have never been more popular. And you don't have to stop at mugs and placemats to get the one-of-a-kind look.

Wallpaper company Udesign has just launched an online service that allows you to personalise wallpaper, murals, stickers and canvas art.

Start by choosing from over 3,000 professional design templates from millions of stock photos and patterns, or upload your own design. If you're no Picasso but like someone else's efforts you can pay a little extra to use their design. OK, so your home won't be entirely unique any more, but every time someone else's design is used its creator will receive a commission.

FLIGHT OF FANCY

THE aviator trend is autumn's big fashion story, with Burberry's exquisite shearling jacket at the top of our shopping list. But since its price tag of more than 2,000 is a tad hefty, try this nifty copy from La Redoute instead.

Inside information

APPLYING the latest lotions and potions in an attempt to halt the ageing process is all very well, but one company is claiming to be able to do the job from the inside out. Minami's anti-ageing capsules contain Omega-3 fish oils to protect the heart, Coenzyme Q10 to help prevent wrinkles, Reservatrol, which can repair cell damage and protect arteries, and folic acid to boost brain function. As if that wasn't a potent enough cocktail, you also get a healthy dose of essential fatty acids to help with eye and nerve health, learning and IQ, co-ordination and mood. We don't really understand the science, but it makes us feel better just thinking about it.
