Interview: Kenny Logan, former rugby player

Who would attend your fantasy dinner party?

I'd invite my wife Gabby, Nelson Mandela, my cousin Hamish and Billy Connolly. We'd have haggis, neeps and tatties, steak and sticky toffee pudding.

Who did you last text?

I texted my wife to tell her I wasn't going to get the earlier flight.

It's not cool but …

I own a pair of Ugg boots. My wife says I'm not to wear them.

What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

My dad said you should never stop learning.

What's the worst job you ever had?

When I was younger I'd have to muck out the cow pens. No matter how many baths you'd have after that, you'd still stink.

Who is your favourite fictional character?

Red, played by Morgan Freeman in The Shawshank Redemption.

What are you afraid of?

Illness. I just want my children and family to have good health.

Did you have a nickname growing up?

Neeps and Serge, but I'm not sure why I was called either. Also Chat, because I talked a lot.

What situations make you lose your temper?

When people aren't honest and go back on their word.

If you could choose a profession you'd like to try, what would that be?

I used to want to be a policeman, so I could drive fast. I'd like to go back to farming one day.

What food or drink is always in your fridge?

Water, chicken, fish, milk and cheese.

If you could change something about yourself, what would it be?

I'd like to have done better at school.

If you could travel back in time, where would you go?

To the times of Braveheart, so I could shout "Freedom!"

Saturday night or Sunday morning?

Sunday morning, as my wife doesn't have to work, so we can have some family time.

Logan's autobiography, Just For Kicks, is published in paperback by Headline, priced 7.99.
