Interview: Ben Brown, charity cyclist

Ben Brown is one of four Edinburgh friends cycling 3300 miles across the United States to raise funds for Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres.

What sort of school pupil were you?

I never had much time for school. I left when I was 16. I would rather have been outside playing football and the only subject I really enjoyed was PE.

Do you have any famous contemporaries from your class?

Not yet, but there is still time for them to make it.

Were your school days the best days of your life?

No, the best days of my life have been from 18 onwards.

What was your first job?

Working in a shoe shop.

My biggest achievement so far has been...

Hopefully helping to organise and complete this charity cycle across the USA with my team mates.

My worst moment ever was...

My gran's death.

Three words that sum up my personality are.

.. Friendly, caring and passionate.

Favourite place in the world?

It's got to be Loch Lomond... or Hampden. Can't decide

Three places in Edinburgh you could not live without?

Easter Road. Arthur's Seat. My house.

If you could bring one show/band to Edinburgh what would it be?

I would bring Led Zeppelin to The Castle.

Name one item you could not live without.

My TV, for the football.

By what ethos do you live your life?

Treat everyone the way you would like to be treated and always try to be the best you can be.
