FANCY a trip away with a difference? Scotland’s islands are home to a packed calendar of festivals this summer with events to suit all tastes and interests.

For music fans, there’s festivals on Arran, Gigha, Mull and Tiree to name but a few while the islands’ traditional Highland Games remain a strong pull for visitors.

A growing interest in running has seen a growth in festivals with Scotland’s islands, home to some of the world’s most spectacular scenery, now staging a number of long distance events.

A number of unique festivals are also being staged this year including Loch Fyne Viking Festival, Colonsay Rugby Festival and the Coll of the Sharks Festival.
