Glasgow hosts National Road Race Championships

Lizzie Armitstead has won gold in the National Road Race Championships in Glasgow.

The Boels Dolmans rider finished 63 seconds ahead of Laura Trott after emphatically pulling clear in the last of eight laps of the circuit through Glasgow’s city centre and west end.

Trott won the Under-23 title when she beat Wiggle Honda team-mate Danielle King to second place in a sprint to the line.
