Glasgow Boys’ In The Orchard acquired by museum

A PAINTING associated with an alliance of influential 19th century Scottish artists has been acquired permanently in a landmark joint acquisition between Glasgow Museums and the National Galleries of Scotland, thanks to support from the National Heritage Memorial Fund and the Art Fund

In The Orchard by James Guthrie has proved to be a favourite attraction among visitors, and the city’s museums body has now acquired the painting permanently. It is currently on display at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.
