The new spot - a re-shot version of the soft drink’s pre-Games commercial which has been viewed more than 300,000 times on YouTube - sees police officers running arm in arm through the Merchant City with Team Scotland fans, as well as featuring a cameo from one of the Scottie dogs from the event’s opening ceremony.

Team Scotland finished fourth in the medal table behind England, Australia and Canada, taking a record 19 gold medals, 15 silver, and 19 bronze.

Adrian Troy, Head of Marketing for Irn-Bru producers A.G. Barr, said: “It’s no coincidence that the Team Scotland athletes have secured a mammoth haul of medal wins – we think it’s a combination of the skill and hard work of the athletes and the rallying spirit and unyielding support of the Scottish sports supporters.

“Our ad champions the stars behind the Games and captures the enthusiasm and spirit of what the experience was like on the streets of Glasgow - we’re so proud to have been a part of it.”
