Food news: Raise your glasses to Royal Tea

Royal wedding fever has hit The Balmoral with the introduction of two themed additions to the menu.

Guests can enjoy the "Edinburgh Royale", a champagne cocktail with whisky, blackcurrant and lemon, every day next week in the The Balmoral Bar.

They can also make the most of a Royal Afternoon Tea in the opulent surroundings of Palm Court (23, from Monday to Sunday next week).

Bibi's Bakery, on Hanover Street, has just launched a range of novelty "cupcake ice-cream cones".

The mouthwatering treats are priced at 1.75 each and are perfect for indulgent snacks or as gifts for loved ones.

The bakery has also introduced new flavours into its regular cupcake range, including strawberries and cream, chocolate strawberry and peach melba.
