Food news: Come dine with me wine experts

THE Scotsman Hotel is serving up an evening for food and wine lovers.

In association with Liberty Wines, the night will give diners the chance to enjoy a five-course menu - designed by Executive Chef Paul Hart - along with accompanying wines.

Each course will be served with a specially-selected wine, and diners will get the chance to learn about each pairing from one of Liberty Wines’ master tasters.

The wine-tasting evening takes place on February 6 from 7.30pm. Tickets are £35 per person. To book a place, please contact 0131- 556 5565.

• West Lothian College’s Terrace restaurant is offering a 15 per cent discount on all meals in February. The deal, which must be booked in advance, is valid for up to four people.

Dishes on the menu include roasted red pepper soup, braised lamb shanks. Canapes and Kir Royale will be served on arrival.
