Slumdog Millionaire and Life of Pie actor Irrfan Khan dies age 53
Irrfan Khan, known for his roles in Slumdog Millionaire and Life of Pie has died at the age of 53.
It has been reported Khan was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai yesterday after suffering a kidney infection.
His condition deteriorated and he died this morning.

Hide AdThe Bollywood icon previously announced in 2018 that he had been diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour.
He had received treatment for cancer and posted a video last year about how important it is to stay positive.
In his broadcast he said: “One doesn’t have any other choice but to remain positive.
“Whether you are able to make lemonade in such situations is entirely up to you.”

Indian film director Shoojit Sircar shared the sad news on Twitter and paid tribute to the actor.
He said: “My dear friend Irfaan.
“You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you. We shall meet again. Condolences to Sutapa and Babil, you too fought, Sutapa you gave everything possible in this fight.
“Peace and Om shanti. Irfaan Khan salute.”
It is understood Khan’s mother, Saeeda Begum, died on Saturday, April 25 at the age of 95 and he attended her funeral via video link.
