Mone can’t stand the heat as MasterChef bid ends

BRA firm boss Michelle Mone didn’t have the right ingredients to reach the semi-finals of Celebrity MasterChef – when she was voted out of the show yesterday.

Pressure finally got to the Glasgow-born businesswoman while she prepared to cook her final three courses and book a place in the next round of the competition.

However, the Ultimo lingerie chief, who looked emotionally drained by the time the dishes were served, failed to make the grade – serving alcoholic cherries with her main course instead of with the dessert.

The former model said: “I am disappointed because I have had an amazing time and learned so much.

“I’ve put everything into it, but I’m obviously just not good enough to go on in the competition. That’s life.”

Ms Mone got off to a rocky start at the beginning of the week-long competition on Monday, but went on to impress judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace.

However, things took a turn for the worse yesterday when she and the two other celebrity contestants – Eighties pin-up Linda Lusardi and Hollyoaks actor Nick Pickard – had to impress food critics from the Women’s Institute.

Ms Mone said: “This has been the toughest challenge of my life. I’ve loved every minute.”
