A childless couple of artists (Viv Albertine of The Slits and Turner Prize-nominated Liam Gillick) barely live together in their striking, modernist house. Now they are about to sell up, and the film tracks the tensions and remoteness of their last few days. More bourgeois angst from Joanna Hogg in an abstract form that should enthral fans, but may exasperate casual viewers.

Admired by Kurt Cobain and punched by Courtney Love, feminist rocker Kathleen Hanna seemed an unstoppable force in the 1990s leading Bikini Kill, then Le Tigre – until she abruptly announced her retirement. Sini Anderson shapes a fascinating, affectionate profile with Hanna’s husband and former Beastie Boy Adam Horovitz, singer Joan Jett and music writer Kim Gordon in the queue to pay tribute to the riotous grrrl.

Bleak, immersive story of a Roma family struggling to survive by salvaging metal. Based on actual events, Danis Tanovic approached the family involved to re-enact their ill-treatment by the authorities; a bold step, but it pays off.
