The BBC Scotland documentary follows four Lady Lairds as they run their Scottish Highland estates and country houses.

Joanna Macpherson at the Attadale estate on Loch Carron in Wester Ross, Loch Fyne’s Lady Laird Tuggy and Auchlyne estate owner Emma were all shown in the divisive first episode.

Some questioned the relevance of the programme with one viewer, @milne25, tweeting: “30,000+ children living in poverty in Labour led Glasgow alone and BBC Scotland are showing this” and @TwoIfBySea71 commenting: “Lasted about 5 minutes of Lady Lairds before switching off. God but is this how BBC see us? We can do so much better”
