It was a memorable evening at the BAFTA Film Awards yesterday (Sunday, February 22), with no shortage of upsets.
Scottish film I Swear, about a Galashiels man with Tourette’s syndrome, won two awards - Best Casting and a Best Actor trophy for Robert Aramayo who played real-life hero John Davidson.
Aramayo, who beat Hollywood royalty including Timothée Chalamet, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ethan Hawke, and Michael B Jordan to the award, walked the red carpet along with co-star Peter Mullan, who lost out in the Best Supporting Actor category, and Davidson himself.
And there was more Scottish talent onstage, with actor Alan Cumming hosting the event and managing to plug his upcoming stage version of comedy The High Life that will be previewing at Dundee’s Rep Theatre later this year before heading out on tour.
The big winner on the night was Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, which took six trophies including Best Director, Best Film and Best Supporting Actor.
Here are 21 pictures of the some of the famous faces at the awards.
