‘Apprentice’ star heard of her ex’s death during show

Apprentice reject Laura Hogg has spoken of the moment she heard that the father of her child had been murdered while she was filming the programme.

The Glaswegian bridal shop owner said it was the “the worst moment” of her life when a member of staff on the BBC show took her aside to tell her that her former boyfriend, Chris Lindsay, had been attacked in Spain.

Mr Lindsay, the father of Ms Hogg’s four-year-old son Reece, died of his injuries.

Ms Hogg, 28, told a newspaper she was “in an absolute state of shock” after the revelation during the recording last October.

She said: “I went back to the house after the task. No-one knew what had happened. I don’t even know if Lord Sugar knows. I was acting as normally as I could, but deep down I was upset as hell.

“I shared a room with my fellow contestant Jade and it eventually came out. The next day we were full-pelt continuing with the task, but by lunchtime it hit me and I just felt sick.

“As soon as the cameras stopped, I burst into tears.”
