That is exactly what Savannah Miller’s new range, Nine, for Debenhams, is for. The proof is in the pudding. It’s easy to pop some clothes on a model and have it all hang immaculately, so I thought I’d road test the line and see how it really feels being dressed by Ms Miller.

The vibe of the collection is wearable and tactile, mashing trends together in an unexpected way. I was really drawn to her dress down sequin aesthetic, marrying daytime and evening together by blending sparkles with knits, casual lace and leathers.

Overall, the full collection works in complete harmony with itself and the wearer. Savannah is in her stride with Nine – easy to wear yet utterly uncompromising on the style stakes.

Evening gown, slouchy knit

I’m a big fan of looks that can take you from day to night so pairing Savannah’s showstopper 1920s-esq backless sequin gown with what feels like a cuddle of a jumper felt very organic. Obviously you can wear this dress on its on come Christmas party time but there is something about Savannah cool dressed down ethos that made covering it up for day so easy.

I would wear both pieces separately - the jumper over some jeans and the dress solo for evening. It feels like a really chic two-for-one outfit to me.

Sequin mini dress gone biker

Now let’s be real. I’m in my 30s, so I had reservations about looking age inappropriate in a sequin mini dress. My insecure side was screaming MUTTON DRESSED AS LAMB while I got undressed to try it on. Truth be told, seeing it with bare legs made me want to remove it immediately but as soon as I applied a little Savannah style magic to it I felt really confident and comfortable – even cool, dare I say it. The leather jacket and flat fringe boots cut through the vampy nature of the dress like a hot knife through butter.

I genuinely felt great in this.

Parka sparkles

This nod to the ‘90s was right up my street. I have always admired a parka from afar, feeling a little too masculine whenever I slip one one. This khaki cracker didn’t cause me any problems slung over the silver sequin mini (which comes with a matching top that looks incredible together, too) and the lace t-shirt. It felt really rock and roll but still glam which made for an interesting style juxtaposition. The fringe heels were a personal preference to dress up the dominance of the day jacket.
