Fashion designers from Edinburgh who've made the grade

Fashion graduate Jett Sweeney is the latest "one-to-watch" to have emerged from Edinburgh College of Art.

She follows in the footsteps of a long line of students who have gone on to make a name for themselves in the industry.

They include Graeme Black, who having graduated in 1989, found work as an assistant designer in London for, among others, John Galliano and Zandra Rhodes. Now, along with his own line, he works for Salvatore Ferra- gamo.

Also graduating in 1989 was Stewart Parvin, who in 2007, having designed for the Queen for many years, was awarded the Royal Warrant of Appointment to the Queen in recognition of his work.

In more recent years, 1999 graduate Holly Fulton has taken the industry by storm, showing her own label at London Fashion Week as well as being stocked at Browns, London and Debut, New York.

Also on the list of notable alumni is 2008 graduate Rachel Barrett who has designed outfits for Lady Gaga's tour and videos.
