YESTERDAY AT 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month people around the world fell silent for two minutes to pay respect to the men and women who paid the ultimate price fighting for our freedom.

The poppy is the symbol of remembrance and of the Poppy Appeal. I sketched this English poppy last week, when my sisters who came up to visit. The drawing is done using a balc fine liner pen with the red added later on the computer.

The two minute silence was just one of many events which took place to remember lives lost since the First World War. For more information about Remembrance Day visit The Royal British Legion website HERE
