THIS WEEK the EdinburghSketcher took his young family out plane spotting at Edinburgh Airport...

“Today we took the kids aeroplane spotting at Edinburgh Airport. The twins are just over two years old and love to shout out every time they see a wee plane flying across the sky above their heads, or out of the window.

There is a road on the way from Edinburgh to Kirkliston that leads to a fence which lines the runway of the airport. Opposite you can see the striking watch tower, and in between that and the fence we watched plane after plane either taking off or landing right in front of us.

The kids loved it, and I recommend it to anyone who wants to get up close to those magnificent flying machines..”
