'Dream' Asian art at auction

ONE of the finest collections of Asian art ever seen at Bonhams auctioneers is to go under the hammer next week.

Described as a "dream", the complete lot – which includes celebrated paintings, ninth century Burmese Pagan bronzes, Tibetan furniture and rugs and Thai sculptures – is conservatively valued at 145,000. Among the pieces is the painting Reclining Court Beauty by Chinese artist Jiang Guo Fang, estimated at 20,000-30,000.

The auction is at Bonhams Edinburgh on Wednesday.
