The multi-million selling artist told officers during her arrest at Shannon Airport in Ireland on 10 November last year that she was an icon and the Queen of Limerick.

O’Riordan, 44, who has been diagnosed as suffering bipolar disorder, admitted four offences including assault and obstructing a Garda following a flight from New York’s JFK airport. Judge Patrick Durcan ordered O’Riordan to write letters of apology to all those affected while he considers sentencing.

The mother of three, who now lives in New York, will be sentenced next year.
