Cordiale invite to film in France

FOUR Films produced in Edinburgh and filmed as a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Entente Cordiale are to be shown on Channel Four.

The short features have been commissioned by Channel 4, Scottish Screen and the Scottish Executive and will all be filmed in Paris.

They are being made to celebrate the historic relationship between Britain and France and the Entente Cordiale, a colonial-era deal between Britain and France that ended centuries of military hostility.

Production company Edinburgh Mediabase will oversee the production of the films and are currently looking for new Scottish directors to work on the project.

The finished work will be shown after the Channel 4 News in September and will also be screened on the Scottish Executive’s website.

Frank McAveety, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sport, said it was a great opportunity for Scottish directors.
