Graham Murdoch, chairman of Forres Features Community Interest Company, said: “We’re thrilled with the feedback we’ve had from visitors to Colours of Cluny and ticket sales are ahead of where we expected them to be, which leads us to believe that we will easily surpass the 10,000 ticket sale target we’d set for ourselves which may make us one of the biggest tourist events in the North of Scotland.

“We are delighted with the geographic spread of visitors we’ve achieved as well as the show attracting visitors of all ages. We know that the event has had a very positive economic effect on local restaurants, hotels and accommodation providers which is all part of the aim behind this project.

“The show runs from Wednesday to Sunday night this week and we’re looking forward to welcoming even more visitors to Forres to experience this truly magical show, which showcases the beautiful surroundings in a completely different way.”

The event, which is the first of its kind in Morayshire, has been staged by Forres Features Community Interest Company, a non-profit organisation formed by the local community in Forres.

They have worked with some of the creative talent behind Pitlochry’s multi-award winning Enchanted Forest to create a unique event set to showcase the natural beauty of the towns Grant Park, Cluny Hill and Nelson’s Tower in a whole new, very colourful light.

Graham added: “As ever, we’re extremely grateful for all those who have helped makes Colours of Cluny a reality and the support we’ve received, from donations to the support from the local community, shows that Colours of Cluny really is a community effort.

“Over 80 volunteers are assisting us acting in a huge number of roles. We’re also delighted that the public has taken it to their heart, supporting us by coming to the show.”

The show will run until Sunday 20th November and tickets are still available by visiting the website at www.coloursofcluny.com
