Clubs of the week: ZZZap | Broke | Bixon | Freshers Week

DJs Bondax join the ZZZAP crew for a loved up house party. Barely out their teens, Bondax have been super-styling their way to success, chalking up no less than 12,000 FB ‘likes’ in the process.

Two busy, busy bee’s, they’ve been ramming countless clubs across the UK and Europe all summer - gaining a reputation for creating the perfect ‘modern’ club sound. The lads instantly likable sound is a mix up of the best uplifting Chicago house classics, hip hop, soulful garage, r n’ b, 80’s synth disco and bouncy house. You might think it sounds like just another mash up night but you’d be wrong, locked down in one deep groove, Bondax have a warm clubby vibe that’s totally accessible, they really are worth checking out if you are out and about.

Support comes from, M.O.T.O., David & Dix, Popes and a few others who agree it’s all about the dancing and having fun.

GR Ant’s Choice: BIXON with Maayan Nidam

Tomorrow night see’s Berlin-based producer Naayan Nidem headline deep house club, Bixon. Nidam’s distinctive blend of house owes its sound to her past. A traveller at heart, Nidem was born in Tel Aviv, studied in the Mediterranean, DJ’d in the New York club/bar scene. Only after a trip to the South American underground she decided to set up home in the electronic capital of Europe, Berlin.

You can expect a fusion of styles - from ass-shaking grooves with distinct Latin swing, bubbling funk, warm bass lines and sensual melodies. Nidam’s sets are neither too obvious nor obscure... it’s cool, fun and most of all quirky... hence she was snapped up by the Cadenza imprint, owned by Ibiza’s King of DJs, LUCIANO. Support from Anna Wall (contemporary house and US garage) and the Bixon residents (Laurence Nolan - this week’s podcast, Kirk Douglas and Phil Kearney).

Tomorrow, Castle Club, Queensferry Lane, 10.30pm-3am, £10
