CalMac unveils 2016 summer timetable
Land management company Stòras Uibhist, often a critic of CalMac, said the timetable offered improved services for the Uists. But there has been criticism in Skye about the Mallaig-Armadale service. It is also hoped that the extra services will provide for an expected boost in tourism over the summer months.
Islanders have raised concerns with local MSPs about the route’s MV Coruisk being replaced with two smaller ships.

Hide AdCalMac said it would move the Coruisk to its Oban-Craignure route in Argyll this summer.
A second Sunday service on the Stornoway to Ullapool route has also been announced. Since 2009, only one ferry route has operated on Sunday, which leaves Stornoway at 2.3pm and returns from Ullapool at 6.30pm.
The second service, operating between June 26 and September 4, will leave Stornoway at 8am before leaving Ullapool at 11.30am.
