Borgen boxset trailer released

GOOD news for anyone looking for a politically-minded Christmas present - the complete box set of Danish drama Borgen is to be released later this month.

The trailer for the ‘Trilogy’ collection - whose packaging includes a ‘Danish government seal’ - has premiered online, with a DVD and Blu-Ray release of the series planned for 16 December.

The BAFTA-winning drama is one of the most popular foreign-language programmes ever shown on British television, and follows the exploits of fictional Danish prime minister Birgitte Nyborg as she deals with the perils of coalition government and a hectic personal life.

Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is known to be a big fan Borgen, and Sturgeon’s ministerial office even lobbied Danish officials to ensure she was invited to a special screening of the hit political drama at Edinburgh’s Filmhouse cinema.
