Bookspotting, a collaboration between Publishing Scotland, Glasgow app developers Spot Specific and Scottish publisher Saraband Books, uses GPS technology to suggest books with a connection to your current location.
The app features information on over 3500 books of Scottish interest, and its database can collate them by character, place, setting, author, date and theme.

Publishing Scotland chief executive Marion Sinclair described the app as “the place to discover the connection between Jules Verne and Oban, or between Mary Shelley and Dundee, and a guide to the independent bookshop that’s nearest to you.”
Bookspotting is available as a free download on the Apple iTunes and Google Play stores.
