B-listed ex-council building in Bearsden transformed into luxury hotel

Boclair House Hotel is scheduled to open on March 31, and has already accepted 67 bookings for weddings and other special occasions.

The venue, at the foot of Boclair Hill, has benefited from a £3 million investment from independent Scottish hotel group Manorview Hotels.

Installed in the hotel are a restaurant, a main ballroom, and a dozen suites for overnight guests.

Steve Graham, Manorview Hotels & Leisure Group’s managing director, said “We are delighted to be opening Boclair House Hotel. It is a stunning venue and we expect to host many happy occasions over the years. The fact that we already have bookings for 67 weddings and special occasions shows the level of interest in this stunning new venue.”

The historic building, built in 1890, was formerly used by East Dumbartonshire Council.
