Album review: The Horrors, Skying
Mild and inoffensive, it is difficult to figure out where The Horrors took the inspiration for the band's name.
Irony I suppose. Faris Badwin's understated vocal presence does have charm, with Dive In and Oceans Burning delicate and drowsy in their seduction.

Hide AdEighties' synths leave a mark on most of the record, most noticeably on Still Life and I Can See Through You, the latter's phrasing recalling Bowie's Boys Keep Swinging.
Like its influences, this is bigger on synthetics than any real soul.
