The classical viola player, folk fiddler and singer casts a songwriter's fly over the pool of contemporary life. Slow to medium tempo songs cover failing bonds, family ties, deceit, love, romantic escape, a mother's fear for her soldier son, and occasional bleak humour – as in her last-chance tiding to her Buccaneer, "You're so full of fancy talk, See that plank, now take a walk. You drink your whisky on the rocks, an' darling, that's where we're heading."
