AC/DC set to play summer Hampden Park gig

AC/DC will play at the stadium on Sunday, June 28 next year. Their last show at Scottish football’s national stadium also took place in 2009, also in June.

The band will also play stadium shows in Dublin and London in July. The band will promote their new album, Rock Or Bust, on the tour - but they will be without co-founding member Malcolm Young, who has been replaced by his nephew after it was revealed he was suffering from dementia.

Young, who was raised in Scotland after emigrating from Australia at the age of ten, formed the group with younger brother Angus in 1973.

The band are best known for anthems such as Back In Black and Highway To Hell, but their output has dwindled in recent decades after a prolific period in the ‘70s and ‘80s.

Their music was most recently used in Iron Man 2, the blockbuster Marvel film starring Robert Downey Jr and Gwyneth Paltrow.
