Jack is the most popular name for baby boys in Scotland for the 14th year in a row, new figures have revealed.
Data published by the National Records of Scotland today shows the most chosen baby names which were registered in Scotland in 2021.
However, there is a long-term trend for more names to be used each year, which means it’s now far less common for children to share names with others in their class.
These are the top baby names for boys in Scotland in the past year.
1. Jack
Jack is number one baby boy name in Scotland, for the 14th year in a row. There were 382 babies named Jack born in 2021. Photo: Getty Images

Noah was the second most popular baby boy name in Scotland last year, with 337 babies given this name. Photo: Getty Images
3. Leo
Leo was the third most chosen name for a baby boy in 2021, with 289 bundles of joy given this name. Photo: Getty Images
