Pep Guardiola better than Alex Ferguson? Yooz must be joking

Here’s another heavyweight contest: Fergie or Pep? Manchester City’s march to another title has prompted the claim that Pep Guardiola is “on course to becoming the Premier League’s greatest-ever manager”. The tweet, from the Tactical Times, even added: “No doubt about that.”

Eh? Or, as Sir Alex Ferguson once put it: “Yooz are all f****n’ idiots.” Fergie at Manchester United claimed 13 titles. The team were two points away from winning nine in a row. It wasn’t just one team; Fergie built three. Michael Carrick and Tom Cleverley paired up in the midfield but Man U still finished 11 points ahead of the rest.

Guardiola is clearly a wonderful coach but no one expects him to stay in England long enough to get halfway to Fergie’s haul. And give me Fergie’s zippy cardigan any day. Pep has been dressing like Dominic Cummings for a while. That’s bad enough but his coat the other night was shades of Gok Wan.
