Queen’s Park thwart Stirling Albion rise

SECOND-placed Queen’s Park hit back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Stirling Albion at Hampden just when it looked like the Forthbank side’s rise up from bottom place to promotion play-off challengers would continue.

Albion took the lead when Kieran McAnespie crossed and Gary Thom powered in a fierce header, before Jordan White’s header came back off a post.

But it was 2-0 ten minutes after the break when Scott Davidson shot home. David Anderson pulled a goal back within two minutes and Aidan Connolly levelled from a tight angle 13 minutes from time.

Elgin’s play-off hopes also remain in place after they recovered from a goal down to defeat Clyde 4-2 at Borough Briggs.

Kieran McGachie rose to give the Bully Wee the lead midway through the first half and the home side’s Paul Millar replied in kind seven minutes later.

The Moray men edged in front eight minutes into the second half when a header from Millar was turned home by Craig Gunn with an overhead kick and, just four minutes later, Iain Gray scored an own goal. Before the end, Millar scored again and McGachie added his second for Clyde.
