Miller scoops up award, but fears for Falkirk

The 18-year-old capped a remarkable run of form by picking up the award yesterday. A goal in Saturday’s clash with Ross County took his season’s tally to 11 and manager Alex Totten recently rewarded the Wishaw player with a new, three-and-a-half-year contract.

But survival for Falkirk is now in serious doubt, and Miller confessed he has fears for the club’s future next season.

"The players’ heads are down but we’ll battle as hard as we can in these last three games," he said. "It’s frightening Raith have been relegated and it’s scary to think that we could join them in the Second Division."

The Scottish Football League has turned down an appeal from Airdrie to be allowed to include Alan Lawrence in their line-up for the rest of the season. Lawrence, 39, was signed by Airdrie in March but club officials were unable to lodge all the documents with the SFL until after the 31 March deadline, because their officials require the permission of provisional liquidators KPMG to make signings and their offices were closed over Easter.

Meanwhile, a meeting will be held today in a bid to thrash out the future of the club. North Lanarkshire Council have called in all the parties involved in running the club with representatives of KPMG, Barr Holdings as well as chairman-elect Andy Gemmell attending.

Forfar are still missing Dave Bowman, Barry Sellars and Robbie Horn and have doubts over Ian Good as they step up their Second Division promotion chase tonight at Morton, who should have Warren Hawke fit.

In the Third Division, second bottom East Stirling, who will be without the suspended Graham McCheyne, play promotion-chasing Peterhead.
