Hibernian Ladies stopper Siobhan Hunter admits she is looking forward to coming face to face with one of her childhood heroes tomorrow.
Hunter grew up idolising Scottish football legend Julie Fleeting and she will get the chance to pit her wits against the Kilwinning star when the clubs clash at Albyn Park, Broxburn (kick-off 2.00pm).
She said: “Julie is such a fantastic player and a role model to young girls all over Scotland.
“She was always someone I looked up to in my childhood days because she was Scottish and playing at the highest level with Arsenal Ladies.
“Julie has enjoyed an incredible career and is one of the greatest Scottish players of all-time. It’s a bonus for me to get the opportunity to play against someone of her calibre and I’m looking forward to the challenge she presents.
“However, Julie isn’t the only player that will cause us problems and Kilwinning will no doubt give us a tough game.
“They haven’t managed to get any points on the board yet this season but anything can happen in football and they will see Hibs as a scalp to take that could provide them with a springboard to push off from.”
Elsewhere, Spartans face Forfar Farmington at Station Park, Forfar, (kick-off 2.00pm) and Hutchison Vale aim to bounce back after three consecutive defeats when they face Buchan at Saughton Enclosure (3.00pm).
