Ross County v Hibs injury latest: Montgomery to make at least two changes, three big hitters return, predicted teams

Hibs head north to take on County in a rearranged Premiership clash in Dingwall

Hibs manager Nick Montgomery will have to make at least two changes to his starting XI for Wednesday’s cinch Premiership match against Ross County at the Global Energy Stadium.

Midfielder Nathan Moriah-Welsh is suspended for Hibs after his straight red card for serious foul play in Sunday’s 2-0 defeat by Rangers, but left-back Jordan Obita’s ban will be carried into next season’s Scottish Cup. And forward Martin Boyle will miss out due to concussion protocols after a nasty head injury against Rangers. Right-back Lewis Miller returned to training on Monday but striker Dylan Vente (ankle) remains a doubt. Long-term midfield absentees Luke Amos (muscle injury), Josh Campbell and Jake Doyle-Hayes (both ankle) remain out.

Ross County manager Don Cowie is looking forward to making some big decisions as the Staggies welcome three more key players back. Influential defender Jack Baldwin was back in the team for the last match against the Hibees at Easter Road a week past Saturday following a two-month absence and Cowie is preparing to add striker Simon Murray, midfielder Yan Dhanda and the experienced Connor Randall to the mix for his sixth game since taking over on an interim basis following the departure of Derek Adams in February.

Ross County's Yan Dhanda returns to the home squad for the visit of Hibs.

“It’s probably going to be the strongest squad I’ve had at my disposal since I’ve been in the role,” said Cowie. “We’ll welcome back Simon Murray, who was ill, Yan Dhanda’s back fit and Connor Randall, who has been out for a period of time, is back in the squad. It’s now about making big decisions because I’ve got plenty of options. It’s about trying to make sure we’ve got the right balance.”

Ross Callachan (knee), Will Nightingale (hamstring), Scott Allardice (knee) and Dylan Smith (ankle) remain sidelined for the hosts.

Predicted Ross County team: Wickens; Efete, Baldwin, Leak; Randall, Loturi, Sheaf, Reid; Dhanda; Murray, White.

Predicted Hibs team: Marshall; Miller, Fish, Bushiri, Obita; Triantis, Newell; Youan, Emiliano, Maolida; Le Fondre.
