Cup dream over for Brora and Fraserburgh despite spirited showings

Highland League sides Brora Rangers and Fraserburgh gave their SPFL opponents a scare before bowing out of the Scottish Cup.

Dale Gillespie's penalty put Brora 1-0 up against Stranraer

Brora led League Two Stranraer through Dale Gillespie's 26th-minute penalty.

But Ayrton Sonkur, who conceded the spot-kick, headed an equaliser two minutes from time.

Former Rangers and Hibs youngster Matt Yates fired the visitors ahead early in extra time and Thomas Orr wrapped up a 3-1 win.

Broch beaten after leading Gable Endies

Fraserburgh were leading League One Montrose 2-1 after a Gary Harris penalty and Scott Barbour cancelled out Chris Mochrie's opener.

But goals from Graham Webster, Russell McLean and Lewis Milne secured a 4-2 win for the Gable Endies.

Bully Wee KO Ayr, Morton survive scare

There was a surprise at Ayr, who were knocked out 1-0 by League One Clyde, courtesy of Barry Cuddihy's strike.

The Honest Men’s Championship colleagues Morton scraped past East Fife 2-1 thanks to an extra-time winner from Robbie Muirhead.

Kevin Smith fired East Fife ahead early in the second half but they were denied victory by Sean McGinty's stoppage-time penalty.
