Boyle wants more fight from Airdrie

Airdrie United manager Jimmy Boyle is demanding an improved showing from his men against Raith Rovers tonight after they capitulated against Cowdenbeath and crashed to a 5-1 defeat in the Second Division at the weekend.

He said: “We are usually a side that fights for everything but that was missing on Saturday, as it was against East Fife the previous week, and that has to change.

“We have a lot to make up for as that performance was simply not acceptable.”

The Diamonds will again be without the injured pair of full back Graeme Goodall and winger Ally Woodburn, with Boyle likely to make changes to his starting XI following Saturday’s defeat.

Raith Rovers manager John McGlynn is hoping that striker Brian Graham shakes off the bug that kept him out at the weekend against Morton, with captain Iain Davidson definitely sidelined with a knee injury.
