You'll never walk a loan

SUPPORTERS of Liverpool FC are to use Edinburgh's Open Doors Day to stage a protest against the Royal Bank of Scotland.

The group, which calls itself Kop Faithful, is upset about loans provided to Liverpool's American owners, George Gillett and Tom Hicks.

Campaigners hope to present a list of questions on September 25-26 to RBS chief executive Stephen Hester, which they say will show the bank that it is now time to "call in" the loans given to the club owners. The group said Liverpool could avoid a nine-point deduction should RBS seize control of the club.
