Two new additions to literary monument

Scotland's literary answer to Hollywood's Walk of Fame is to honour two more writers.

Edinburgh's Makars' Court, in the heart of the Old Town, will add memorials to Sir David Lyndsay (c.1486-1555) and Lachlan Mr MacMhuirich (c1370 - 1438).

Lyndsay's stone, sponsored by the Sir David Lyndsay Society, will be unveiled tomorrow, while the stone commemorating Lachlan Mr MacMhuirich - sponsored by the Clan Currie Society, Inc - will be unveiled on July 22.

Councillor Steve Cardownie, deputy city council leader, said: "Scotland - and not least its capital city - has produced an extraordinary number of accomplished writers and the Makars' Court is an excellent way of paying tribute to them and celebrating their work."
