Foreign minister is charged with fraud

Nationalist Israeli foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman will be indicted for fraud and breach of trust, the justice ministry said yesterday.

The charges are less severe than were originally considered and come ahead of a 22 January election, which the right-wing party of Lieberman and prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu is predicted to win.
