Scotland traffic and travel: One lane remains closed after Crossgates on A92 following a tanker fire

Traffic Scotland has confirmed that one lane has reopened after Crossgates on the A92 after a tanker fire caused both lanes to shut at around 6am today.
The A92 eastbound and southbound between Crossgates and Cowdenbeath is closed due to an HGV fire.The A92 eastbound and southbound between Crossgates and Cowdenbeath is closed due to an HGV fire.

Lane 1 remains closed but lane 2 has reopened.

Drivers were being urged to use an alternative route and are now being warned to expect delays.

Emergency services and The Trunk Road Incident Support Service (TRISS) attended the incident.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) received the report today at around 5.50am.

A spokesperson said: “We received a call about a fire on a tanker. Both rear tires were well alight.

"The fire has now been extinguished and the fire service are cooling the rear axle of the vehicle.”
