I drove through the beautiful countryside of Perthshire over the weekend and felt a small pang of regret each time I passed a wind farm.

It wasn’t inspired by the kind of negativity about renewables that I keep reading in your letters page – because I find wind farms magnificent to behold – but more a sadness that we can’t seem to get it right.

I hope the dropping of subsidies for wind farms doesn’t mean we stop trying to develop technology to capture this clean energy resource.
