Yasmin, the wife of Duran Duran frontman Simon Le Bon, said: "As a mother of three, it is shocking to know pregnant women and children are the most vulnerable to malaria in Africa, where a child dies from the disease every 45 seconds.

"The mosquito locket for Malaria No More UK is an inspired piece of jewellery which will help save and protect many lives. I will wear my mosquito locket with pride".

Mr Webster said: "Making malaria no more is something that we can all support. I decided to revamp the traditional locket and create a provocative and expressive talking piece. It's something that will look good for a long time."

The charity was founded in 2008 to raise awareness and campaign against the disease which kills around 850,000 people a year.
