Ally McCoist says that Sir David Murray is due an apology

Ally McCoist last night insisted that former Ibrox chairman Sir David Murray is due an apology. However the Rangers manager fears that Murray will never get one. He said: “The amount of mud thrown at David Murray was incredible, but I doubt that he will get an apology from certain people.” McCoist was speaking in California, following the club’s success in its tax case against HMRC. He said that the whole situation had left him bitter: “It certainly leaves, at best, a very bad taste in my mouth and with a lot of people at Rangers when you think of what has happened. It needn’t have happened. It’s horrendous. I will never forget some of the things which have been said and done to our club by people who should have known better.” (Various)

SFA defend ticket price hike

SFA chief executive Stewart Regan insists the increase in ticket prices for Scotland’s upcoming Euro 2016 campaign is ‘fair and equitable’ using a comparison with a David Guetta concert to support his case. The governing body had originally come under fire from the tartan army after they revealed the prices for a six game package that included the five qualifiers and a friendly against England that will see Scotland Supporters Club members paying up to £250 for the games as well as membership fees of up to £55. Regan claimed the increase in price was justifiable due to the cost of moving several of the fixtures away from Hampden which has been temporarily transformed for the Commonwealth Games. (Express)

Rangers reject bid for defender Bilel Mohsni

Rangers have rejected a bid for defender Bilel Mohsni from Abu Dhabi-based side Baniyas Sports Club. The 26-year-old centre half was spotted by Baniyas while playing for Tunisia in friendlies against Belgium and South Korea. Rangers are hoping to keep the player though they are braced for Baniyas to make a second bid. (Record)

Dundee United kick out second bid from Hull for Andy Robertson

Dundee United have kicked out a second bid from Hull for Andy Robertson. The Tigers came back with an improvement on their original bid of £1.75 million they tabled two weeks ago, however Dundee United say it is still not enough to persuade them to sell. Steve Bruce is said to be a huge fan of the Scottish left back and is expected to pull out all the stops to sign him. It’s expected they will offer a third bid later this week. (Sun)

Calum Paterson signs extension at Hearts

Hearts starlet Calum Paterson last night secured a new long term deal at Tynecastle. The right back has penned a new three year contract. The news comes on the back of a rise in season ticket sales as more than 11,000 ticket books have been snatched up for the coming season. The club are also running the rule over former Ajax academy prospect Rafael Uterloo. (Sun)
