Libraries snap up exhibition

a PHOTOGRAPHIC exhibition which depicts British and Arabic sign language conversations is to open at libraries in East Lothian.

Conversations, by Phil Arnold, was inspired by an exhibition in Syria which depicted conversations in Arabic Sign Language.

He said: “The concept was so simple and so powerful. The exhibition enabled me to become part of conversations in this rich visual language, in another culture that would normally be inaccessible to me. I decided to bring the exhibition to Scotland and let other people benefit from it too.”

He developed it into an exhibition which will be at the library in Ormiston from August 22 to 28, Port Seton from August 31 to September 11, and Prestonpans from September 14 to 25.
