10-year-old boy dies after swimming in Scottish loch

The young boy died after getting into difficulty in the water yesterday.

A 10-year-old boy has died after getting into difficulty at a loch in Stirling.

He was swimming in Loch Lubnaig, near Callander, at around 5:35pm on Wednesday afternoon, when he began to struggle.

Emergency services were called to the scene, but were unable to rescue the boy.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: ““We were called to reports of a child experiencing difficulty in the water at around 5.35pm on Wednesday.

“Sadly, the 10-year-old boy died.

“There are no suspicious circumstances.”
