Parents of Scot linked to Rooney say sorry to wife Coleen

THE parents of the woman whom Wayne Rooney allegedly paid £1,200 a time for sex have apologised to the footballer's wife, Coleen.

Hamish and Dana Thompson spoke out after claims that their Scots-born daughter Jennifer, 21, regularly slept with the Manchester United and England star while his wife was pregnant.

The Thompsons issued a statement, saying: "Following the various newspaper articles concerning our daughter Jennifer, we would like to offer our most sincere apologies to Coleen Rooney and her family.

"This may sound somewhat hollow, but my wife and I would never condone what has or may have happened.

"We had absolutely no idea about any of the allegations and claims that have been made."

Aberdeen-born Miss Thompson is said to have met the strikerat Manchester's five-star Lowry Hotel for sex.

She also spent time with him at Manchester's 235 Casino, she has said.

His wife Coleen, 24, was pregnant with their son Kai at the time and is currently spending time at her parents' home in Huyton, Liverpool

The couple, who were believed to be on holiday when news of their daughter's relationship with Rooney broke, added: "Jennifer is our daughter and we love her and we will deal with this matter as a family, not via the media.

"We would appreciate greatly if we could be afforded a degree of privacy and time in which we can gain a better understanding of the situation.

"We would also like to make it clear that we are not interested in being interviewed by any newspaper or magazine no matter what offer has or may be made.

"This is also true of Jenny's three brothers (Alexander, Charlie and Max] and other members of our families. We will not be answering any questions from this point forward."

Miss Thompson was brought up in the Gulf state of Qatar, as her father is reportedly an oil company executive. Rooney scored in England's 3-1 win over Switzerland on Tuesday night.
