Bron played the Queen first on TV

WITH reference to the article by Emma Cowing (Profile, 21 February), Stanley Baxter is talking rubbish if he thinks his portrayal of the Queen was the first to be shown on British TV.

Eleanor Bron's comic sketch first recorded at the Establishment Club in Soho, then shown in part on Not So Much A Programme, More A Way Of Life in 1965 was, I believe, the first such effort. I have been watching TV since 1956 and, generally, I know these topics.
